ECT 50 – Ultra Marathon

A reminder to residents that the East Coast Trail will be hosting the ECT Ultra Marathon this weekend.
On Saturday October 28th, 100 trail runners will be running from Pouch Cove to Quidi Vidi, along the East Coast Trail and community links, for the 7th annual ECT 50: East Coast Trail Ultra Marathon, with proceeds supporting the East Coast Trail Assocation.
This is a very popular race within the Trail Running Community, that also sees some participants from other parts of the country, United States, and even Europe. Many have spent months training for this race.
Runners will be on the shoulder of the road from Middle Cove Beach on Marine Lab Drive to Doran’s Lane to enter Cobbler’s Path, as well as exiting on to Red Cliff Road to Marine Lab Drive to enter Sugarloaf Path, between 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM. – Please see Road Sections in the below link.
Anyone wishing to join in on cheering these runners on at Middle Cove Beach can do so between 10:30am and 1:00pm
